Dyson unveled its new robotic vacuum, called the Dyson 360 Eye. Among its advanced technology features are a built-in robotic eye that lets it see its environment to map out exactly where it has been and a V2 Dyson digital motor. The robotic eye presents a 360-degree live image of its surrounding to the 360 Eye's computer brain, telling it where to go next, and building a constantly updated model of the cleaning environment in tandem with infrared sensors. The robotic eye was designed in partnership with Imperial College London. They spent 16 years and $47 million in R&D to create the robot. The unit also has tank-style treads to help it move over small household obstacles. Owners will be able to control the robot by using a new app for iOS and Android which handles screening even via remote connection. The unit will first ship to Japanese customers in spring of 2015.
